We pledged to the European Climate Pact
The “North Star” Pledge involves significant and measurable actions that contribute to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in line with our Climate Action Plan, which was approved last April 2022 by an advisory shareholders’ vote, known as the «Say on Climate», and part of the whole Sustainability strategy.
The European Climate Pact is an initiative launched by the European Commission, and it is part of the European Green Deal, helping the EU to meet its goal to become climate-neutral by 2050. The aim is to bring people together to build a more sustainable Europe for all: people, organizations, businesses, and cities can get involved in the Pact by making a pledge to take real action.
Our North Start Pledge covers the following objectives:
- Reducing greenhouse emissions (scope 1 & 2) to Net Zero by 2040, aligned with a 1.5° pathway
- Moving to 77% renewable electricity consumption by 2030 and 100% by 2040
- Reducing indirect carbon emissions (scope 3) across the value chain
We are also taking part to the United Nations’ Global Compact, and we support the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, joining the Race to Zero campaign.
