Moving Beyond

We manage transport infrastructure that enables billions of trips annually, connecting people, communities, and regions.

A role that today goes beyond simply managing networks as it requires addressing complex and interconnected challenges: responding to climate change, responsibly using resources, ensuring safety for our people and travelers, and innovating to make mobility increasingly sustainable.
Our strategy has been developed to transform these challenges into clear priorities, which are then translated into concrete, measurable actions oriented toward long-term value creation.

Description
Climate change

We address climate change through an integrated approach based on adaptation, mitigation, air quality protection, and resource circularity. We support our efforts with concrete actions that promote the transition to renewable energy, the use of low-emission sources, efficiency, and decarbonization.

Adaptation to climate change

We integrate adaptation measures into infrastructure design and management to ensure safety, resilience, and service continuity over time, adopting a proactive approach to managing extreme events that reduces the risk of interruptions  and limits maintenance and restoration costs.

Mitigation and energy

We develop infrastructure and invest in low-emission solutions – from intelligent traffic management to electric vehicle charging infrastructure and sustainable fuels – integrating on-site  renewable energy production with “second-life” storage systems . In this way, we reduce emissions and energy demand while improving operational efficiency and service continuity – and we make our infrastructure more resilient, with a lower impact on local energy grids.

Air pollution

We manage infrastructure in an integrated manner to reduce air pollution linked to road traffic and airport operations, by optimizing flows and promoting more sustainable behaviors, especially at the most critical stages (landing and take-off, stop-and-go at toll booths, and congestion). Through advanced traffic management solutions supporting the implementation and management of Ultra Low Emission Zones (ULEZs) and Low Emission Zones (LEZs), we contribute to improving air quality and reducing emissions.

Circularity

We adopt recycling, recovery, and reuse practices in our processes and in the management of our infrastructure, also implementing eco-design solutions . We optimize waste production, reducing pressure on landfills and the demand for virgin resources, improving operational efficiency, and limiting environmental impacts.

Working conditions

We promote fair working conditions for all workers (direct and indirect), in compliance with the highest international standards, fostering a value-creation culture centered on people and local communities, while generating positive  social as well as economic impact.

Health and safety

We promote safe working conditions for our workers (direct and indirect), investing in establishing a culture  of prevention, health, and human dignity.  We bring the same approach to the regions where we operate: contributing to health and safety means supporting the well-being of local communities and reducing pressure on health services.

Community

We contribute to the economic and social development of the regions where we operate, promoting shared value and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with local communities. At the same time, we responsibly manage the impacts of our activities – such as noise pollution from traffic and airport operations – by implementing solutions that reduce their effects on quality of life and ecosystems.

Equal treatment and opportunities

We integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into our business processes, empowering people and supporting their development through upskilling and reskilling programs. This way, we strengthen skills, engagement, and the organization’s capacity to generate people-centered value.

Safety and customer satisfaction

We manage our infrastructure with a focus on safety, service quality, and customer satisfaction.  Through adherence to the highest standards and the adoption of innovative monitoring systems, we seek to deliver the best travel experience to our customers.

Responsible value chain

We strengthen our business relationships by promoting ethical practices, aligning our partners’ and suppliers’ ESG commitments  with our own, and supporting socio-economic development, while reducing negative  environmental and social impacts along the value chain.

Corporate integrity and responsible lobbying

We operate in accordance with high  ethical standards, preventing corruption and non-compliant behavior  through control systems, policies, and awareness-raising activities, thereby strengthening the trust of our stakeholders. In this context, we promote responsible and transparent dialogue with institutions and support policies focused on sustainable development and the collective interest.

Cybersecurity

We strengthen the resilience of the mobility ecosystem and our value chain through cutting-edge cybersecurity systems and training programs, ensuring the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of information.

Our Pillars

Our “ESG Roadmap @2030” translates this vision into a structured path marked by objectives and actions, articulated as three “pillars” – Planet, People, and Prosperity – that guide our commitment toward concrete and measurable results.
