Paris, 20 October 2011 - Autostrade per l’Italia SpA, via the wholly owned project company, Ecomouv SAS, has signed a partnership agreement with the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Transport (MEDDTL) for the implementation and operation of a satellite-based toll system for heavy vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes on a part of the country’s 15,000-km road network (Eco Taxe Poids Lourds), together with the documentation relating to the financing and design of the project. The signature follows award of the contract at the end of a tender process organised by the MEDDTL, which closed last January.
